Hi! My baby is a wearer, through and through. Every afternoon we go for a walk around 4pm so Bubby can have a sleep during his 'witching hour'. He's 3 months old and getting heavier and I'm finding the ring sling and the Bjorn aren't comfortable for long walks, my back aches and so do my wrists for supporting his head on bouncy walks.
It's also getting quite hot here in Brisbane so I want to find a great carrier that a) is relatively cool for everyday outdoor use and b) super comfy for long time wearing (both back and shoulders).
Can you help with any suggestions?
Thanks so much for your time. Chrissy :)

Hi, I'm looking for a woven wrap to use this summer with my little girl who is almost 3 months old. I have a ring sling and Moby but am looking for something more supportive for back carries and lightweight for the warmer weather. I think I've narrowed it down to Girasol vs Wrapsody Breeze, but I can't decide between the two. I love the earthy rainbow in the girasol but am not sure if its as lightweight as the breeze. Any advice? Thanks :)

I think cradle position is fine, especially since thats the position baby was in when inside tummy. I used the woogi woo wrap which is made from organic cotton, bamboo and some spandex which means it bounces and breathes (so no sweating) making it perfect for the Aussie climate. Anyway my baby loved it and I still use it all the time. When my baby is having trouble sleeping I just pop him into the woogiwoo and he drifts off within minutes.....sooo good.

Pediatricians DO NOT recommend the type of slings/carriers that allow babies legs to dangle downwards. The reason for this is the amount of tension put upon the high joint and studies & simulations have shown that each step the mother takes actually pops the ball out of the joint partially. For proper development a babies legs need to be opened about 90%, ie like when on your hip. Slings that accomodate this style of carrying are considered the best when carrying baby.

Hi, i wanted to chime in and recommend the Baby K'tan carrier. it's a kind of pouch sling, but is two pouches connected. it totally gets rid of the con "weight only on one shoulder so not as comfy for heavy babies."
since it is two loops, it goes over both your shoulders and distributes the weight more evenly. it also allows you to wear it in so many more positions.
my baby loves her k'tan and can't get enough of it.
